Sheep Rearing
Programme Description
With the generous support of Conferenza Episcopale Italiana, Italy, Health Welfare Association implemented a goat rearing program to empower 150 economically disadvantaged rural and tribal women who had lost their daily wage jobs.
Each woman received a goat, providing them with a sustainable source of income through the sale of milk, offspring, and other goat products. This initiative has significantly contributed to improving their financial stability and enhancing the quality of life for their families.
By fostering economic self-reliance, the program has helped these women overcome poverty and gain a sense of dignity and independence. It has also strengthened the local economy by creating new income streams within the community.
This goat rearing initiative exemplifies our commitment to sustainable livelihood development and the empowerment of marginalized women, paving the way for long-term economic resilience.
