Safe Drinking Water

Borewells for Impoverished People in Two Remote Villages of Anantapur District, India

In two remote villages of Anantapur District, the lack of sustainable water sources forced women to walk long distances daily to fetch water, often from unsafe and unreliable sources.

Recognizing that access to clean water is essential for health, dignity, and a better future, we implemented a project to install two hand pump borewells.

Thanks to this initiative, 247 families (comprising 1,140 individuals, including women, men, children, and the elderly) now have access to safe drinking water close to their homes. This has alleviated the physical burden and health risks associated with fetching water from distant and often contaminated sources.

By providing clean and reliable water, this project has transformed the lives of these communities, contributing to better health, improved sanitation, and enhanced quality of life. It aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), ensuring access to safe and affordable water for all.
