With the generous support of Madonna House Missions, Canada, the Health Welfare Association successfully implemented the project “New Clothes Distribution to the Three Shelters for Urban Homeless Poor People” in Maruthi Nagar, Kadiri, Sri Satya Sai District. The programme aimed to restore dignity, comfort, and self-esteem among the urban homeless population. After a careful needs assessment, 220 homeless men and women, including elderly, disabled, and bedridden individuals, were identified across three shelters. New clothes such as sarees, lungis, shirts, nighties, and towels were procured and distributed through well-organized outdoor and indoor distribution drives. The initiative significantly improved personal hygiene, emotional well-being, and dignity among the beneficiaries, many of whom had not received new clothing for several years.
